House card gift card holder

Hi I'm back again! I've been absent for awhile since there was so much going on in my life. My husband's mother had a stroke the beginning of August and so we were at the hospital every day/evening. She requested that she did not want to be revived in anyway. Her left side was partially paralyzed and she couldn't swallow or talk. She wasn't able to eat or drink any liquids. She passed away peacefully after 10 days.
I've been busy as usual and working on selling different things which is why I've been lacking in crafting. But today I was able to get in a couple hours of crafting and made this card using a new Sizzix die. This is a new house card die from Sizzix. I had some Hello Kitty die cut pieces lying around and decided to use it for the front of the card.
The stamped sentiment is from a Hero Arts clear stamp set.
For the inside of the card, I decided to make it hold a gift card. The stamped sentiment is from the same Hero Arts clear set.
Hope you're enjoying this holiday weekend! I had plans to go to the Okinawan festival today but changed my mind after feeling how hot it was outside. Thanks for stopping by and checking on me and have a great weekend!!!

Simple Happy Birthday Card

It's been so hot lately that I haven't been able to go downstairs to my craft room. I made it down there today since there was a little breeze. I had to make a birthday card and wanted to ink up this new stamp from Dandelion Designs from the flower girls stamp set.
I finally got to use this cherry blossom embossing folder that a friend gave me a couple of months ago.
It's been awhile since I last used my copic markers and I'm glad they still have ink in them.
Last weekend I flew to Maui with Joy from Ben Franklin Crafts and I had such a nice time there! I can't believe that I have never eaten pastries from Komoda bakery. I've been to Maui hundreds of times and didn't know about that place. We were on Maui for the rebranding celebration of HouseMart Ben Franklin Crafts.
Me and Joy before I started my make & take.
We met the Maui beauty queen.
I forgot to take a photo of the make & take. Lol!
Thanks for stopping by today!!! Have a great weekend!

Flower girls pop 'n cuts card

Hi again! I'm still here. Just haven't been able to make anything in awhile. I made this card last week and then I got lazy and didn't take a photo of it. This is one of my favorite pop 'n cuts die by Karen Burniston called label window. There are now 2 base dies to use with all the different insert dies. I like how this wider base die also has a swirl die cut that you can use to decorate your card. I used Dandelion Designs new cling set called "flower girls". There are 4 different flower girls in the set. They also come in a small cling size too.
Here's a photo of how the card looks when you open it.
If you live on Maui, I'll be doing a make & take at the Ben Franklin Crafts store on July 20th from 10 - 12 pm. Stop by and say hi and make a card with me.
Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Hello Kitty butterfly garden gate album

I picked up a couple of dies from the store over the weekend. The newest release from Sizzix arrived last week and there were a bunch of them that I wanted to get my hands on. Lol! When I first saw this fence die, I knew I had to have it. It is designed by Eileen Hull. You can make it into a mini album or a card like I did in the photo.
I used some older dies to make this card. I used the Hello Kitty butterfly sizzlit die since I had some extras already cut out. I have a hard time throwing the extras away. The grass is a deco strip die that is also no longer available. The flowers came off of a Hello Kitty deco strip die. I can't remember the name of the die. The clouds are punches from Fiskars.
Thanks for stopping by today and I appreciate all your comments too!!!

You're so sweet!

Hi and hope you're having a great Sunday! I've been wanting to use this jar die and stamp set by Stephanie Barnard but never got around to it until today. I decided to make a shaker card since I haven't made one in awhile. Believe it or not, the strawberry stamp is by Hero Arts. It was on one of the teaching kits and I thought it would be cute to put it in the jar.
The white background is embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I used a banner framelit die to cut out the sentiment stamp.
Sorry I haven't been around much but I am still dealing with my heart problems. My doctor keeps increasing the dosage on the meds that I take and now the heart part is fine but I'm feeling miserable because I am so dizzy and can't see straight. It's scary to be driving but I have to drive.
Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Busy week update

Hi, I've been quite busy with Cheri in town since last week and this week. I thought I'd share some photos here. We did a couple make & takes last weekend and we have a couple this weekend. I posted our make & takes on my sidebar. Hope to see you at one of the Ben Franklin Craft stores this weekend!
I had Cliff take a photo of us before I forget.
Here's Cheri trying to show me how to make the flowers using the new Susan Tierney flower dies that just arrived at the stores. If you love making flowers, these are the perfect dies for that.
Here's the card that we made last week Saturday at J's. This is one of the new Doodlebug dies and stamps called "sweet treats".
And the brand new Sizzix Big Shot machine that should be arriving at the stores this month!
I'll be posting the rest of the make & takes later. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!!

Doodlebug Designs clear stamps and dies

Lately, I have been seeing a lot of paper companies coming out with dies and matching stamps that coordinate with their lines. The newest one is Doodlebug Designs. I love how you can stamp the image and then take a die to cut out the image. So much easier than hand cutting.
These stamps and dies are from the "baby boy" line. They are so cute and also coordinate with the double sided papers.
I made little cards to use on baby gifts.
I decided to use Hero Arts stamp sentiments. These are from an older clear set.
The embossing folders are from Sizzix.
Hope you're having a great Thursday! Thanks for stopping by today!!!

It's Your Day

I'm sort of on a roll making cards which is good news since I somehow lost my mojo along the way. Yesterday was my husbands birthday and for us it is the dreaded tax day! Poor guy! Anyways, I made him a quick and easy card using a Sizzix die. How cute is this dog?
The papers are old and from my scrapbooking days.
The stamp sentiment is from Hero Arts "it's your day" set. I stamped on the inside of the card but didn't want to take a photo of it since I wrote a message to my husband.
Hope your day is going well and thanks for stopping by!!!

Hello Kitty birthday card

Hi and hope your weekend is going well! I've been going through all my craft supplies and trying to purge out all the really old stuff. I have piles of brand new dies unopened and never been used and this Hello Kitty die is one of them. I wanted to keep the card simple since the background die cut has all the circles.
I used Sizzix Hello Kitty "in bathing suit #2" die. The background circles is a die from Cheery Lynn Designs called "lattice circles".
And the stamp sentiment is from Hero Arts called "it's your day". Love this stamp set!
I really have to make a birthday card for my husband and planned on doing it today but got side tracked after finding the Hello Kitty die. Lol!
Well, have a great weekend and thanks for coming by to visit me!!!

Happy Easter candy/card box

Happy aloha Friday!!! I finally had a chance to make something today. I love this cute Hello Kitty bunny die and eggs die. I used a candy/card box svg cut file that I got from Eunice last month. She comes up with some amazing projects and makes them into cut files. You have to check her blog out.
Well, hope you have a great Easter holiday weekend and thanks for stopping by today!!! Sorry such a short blog post but I have to finish up some paperwork before tomorrow.

Easter baskets

While I was at home recuperating two weeks ago, I spent some time cutting and gluing these Easter baskets together. My craft room is finally looking so much better but I could use more space. To cut these baskets, I used my Eclips machine and bought a cut file from SVG Cuts. In fact, I bought a bunch of cut files. Lol!
I used Kathy bunny from an old Hello Kitty deco strip die. It was quite fast and easy to put her together. I love this solid cardstock that I bought from Ben Franklin Crafts awhile ago. It was such a great deal and tons of paper in the pack. Very nice quality paper.
Here's the pink basket.
A green one.
And a yellow. I wanted to make a purple one but couldn't find the right purple colored paper. Now I have to finish wrapping them up and they will be all ready to go.
I'm going to be at Ben Franklin Crafts Market City this Saturday doing a really cute make & take from 10:00 - 11:30 am. Hope you can make it down for the celebration!
Thanks for stopping by and hoping to see everyone this weekend!!!

Catching up

Hi there and Happy Girl's Day!!! I know it has been awhile since I last posted (Dec. 2012) and I have been trying to catch up with everything since we came back from CHA which was back in January. Anyways, to make a long story short, I ended up in the ER last week Monday and stayed in the hospital for 3 days. My husband and I went for our normal exercise (fast walking) and about a third of the way, my heart started to beat rapidly so I sat down to wait it out. Then we continued on and I had to sit down again. I don't even know how I made it back to the car but when we got to the Ward parking lot, I almost passed out and pretty much laid on the ground and told my husband that I needed to go to the ER. We went back home and he told me that he will take me to the doctor. Well, I couldn't even walk and so they put me in a wheel chair. I took an EKG and my doctor said that I needed to go to the ER right away! I had this heart monitor attached to my body for 3 days. They wouldn't let me take a bath or walk around the room. The doctor gave me meds to slow my heart down so that is what is helping me now. I still have to take more tests to find out what is wrong with me.
Back in January, I taped the Joy of Crafting tv show with Joy. Here is a photo of the project that I made for the show.
I used Karen Burniston's pop 'n cuts base die and the square ornate frame magnetic die to make this card. The stamped bear is from Dandelion Designs called bear hugs.
Paper used is from Doodlebug Designs and Ben Franklin Crafts had the whole collection. I'm not sure what is left, but this is actually from the Valentine's collection but you can't really tell right?
The last photo is the front of the card. I used all the scraps to decorate the card.
Sorry I've been away for so long but I'm glad you stopped by and look forward to getting back into posting again.
Have a great week!!!

New Sizzix dies

I finally got my hands on some of the new Sizzix "thinlits" dies. They are different from the framelits. I made this card today using the "fancy label and flowers" set. The dies come with a small sheet of ejection foam in case you need to use it to get your die pieces out of the die.
I used only 2 of the 6 dies that are in the set to make this card. I wanted something easy for a thank you card. The stamp is Hero Arts.
And the dies come packed in this cute plastic envelope. Great way to store your thinlit dies.
So hard to believe that the year is almost over and soon it will be 2013. I've been trying to clean my craft room but it seems endless. Everytime I start to organize, either the UPS or FedEx man shows up with more boxes and then I'm back to finding a new home for my things.
Well, thanks for stopping by today!!! And if I don't get a chance to do another post, Happy New Years!!!

Joy and Hello Kitty

Hi and happy Friday!!! This is probably the first year that I haven't posted holiday cards. But today I made this clean and simple card using the "bubble joy" die from Memory Box. I stamped a holiday message on the inside of the card.
I love how easy this was to make and I'll probably have to make several more.
This next photo is a long notebook that I made and used a Hello Kitty die on the cover of the notebook. I made a bunch of these in different colors for the stamp club group ladies.
I had a stack of precut notebooks lying around and finally found a use for it. Hope the ladies like it.
Thanks for stopping by even though I haven't been posting as much as I would like to. It's been quite a year and looking forward to 2013!

Sizzix new gift card holder

Hi! Here is something that I made when I got the new Sizzix gift card holder die last week. I like that the die came with 2 textured impression embossing folders and I didn't have to go digging through my storage box filled with embossing folders.
I used Dandelion Designs new "holiday gift card" stamp set. I took this photo with my phone to post on Instagram so that is why there are objects around it. Part of the mess on my craft table. And see that wooden alphabet set, it is one of the new Decorate It sets that Hero Arts made exclusive for Target.
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!!!

New Sizzix carry all box

Hi! I got a couple of new craft things over the weekend. I saw this new Sizzix die in the store and I know it looks like the old carry all box die but this one comes with 2 textured impression embossing folders and a "talking tag". Talking tag is one of the latest thing that Sizzix released this past summer. You do need a smart phone in order to use it. But what it does is, you can record a message on this QR coded sticker and stick it on your project and the recipient of your gift can listen to your message. It is the coolest thing!
Back to my box. I used Dandelion Designs newest stamp called "sakura frame".  And that "just for you" saying was sitting on my craft table from an earlier project so I decided to use it.
I used one of the textured impression embossing folders for the front of my box and dabbed some white ink on the raised dots.
I found this bottle of clear glitter in the store. It's called Tim Holtz distress clear glitter and I love the effect of it when I sprinkled it on the flowers.
And before I forget, if you want to win some Hello Kitty products, leave a comment on the post below. I will be drawing the winner tomorrow - Halloween!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!!!

Hello Kitty Giveaway

Hi! A couple of weeks ago, the great folks at Horizon Group USA sent me a box filled with Hello Kitty scrapbooking products, all for free!!! I was told that these items are only available at the Michaels stores on the mainland.
These are the items that I received and much, much more!
So here are a few things that I made using products from the kit. And I still have lots of it left. (Warning, very long post ahead). First up is a pillow box which is in the 12x12 paper pad assortment. I used a Sizzix framelit die for the frame on the box. I wanted to show the red cherry gumballs that I put inside the box.
Next I used the square box that is also in the 12x12 paper pad. After I assembled it together, I chose one of the punch outs to decorate the box.
There is so much product just in the 12x12 paper pad!
And lastly, I decided to make a mini scrapbook album. I used a Sizzix pro die called pocket page and tag to cut the mini album. I used the different lists from the small memo pads and glued them on to the tags.
It was so easy to assemble everything. Here's the tag that I placed in the front cover.
This is the 2nd page of my album. I used stickers from the 12x12 paper pad to decorate all the pages.
These are the different lists that I placed on each tag.
Here is the 3rd page of my album.
And the lists that I used for these tags.
Here is the back of the album.
And the list that I used for the last tag.
Here's a view of the album opened. I used metal circle rings to hold everything together.
And now for the "giveaway"!!! Do you like free stuff? Especially if it's Hello Kitty stuff? Well, here's your chance to win a package of these Hello Kitty scrapbooking products. Just leave me a comment and if you just want to say hi, that is fine too. I will draw a winner on Wednesday, October 31st Halloween. Please make sure there is some way for me to contact you too.
Winner needs to be 18 years or older and a US resident. The package will be shipped directly from Horizon Group USA.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week!!!
