Scrappies and a rak

Yesterday, after cleaning up my crafty mess and packing all my supplies for tomorrow's tv show taping, I ended up using the leftover scraps to make this card. I used Hero Arts woodgrain stamp to emboss the background on the card. The chinese girl's clothes was leftover from another stamped background. I've been wanting to use these felt flowers from Hero Arts and it matched the card so well. These are self adhesive so it's real easy to stick it wherever you want it. The word stamp is from Stampin Up.I have an extra package of flower felts to send to someone so leave me a comment, something funny, and I'll pick someone to send this to. I'll pick a winner on Saturday.

Speaking of funny, this was once my favorite teak chair until yesterday. While I was downstairs packing my projects for tomorrow's tv show taping, I heard a loud crash and then some moaning. Actually, this chair wasn't real safe to sit on. As long as you didn't lean back on it, it was okay to sit on. But if you leaned back on the chair, it would fall apart. Well, my daughter was eating her dinner and must of leaned back and then the chair crashed. It's not repairable either since the wood cracked apart by the legs. Well, my husband comes home and sees my chair in pieces and tells me that he should of brought the glue home and if I want, he can glue it back for me. Uh...yeah sure.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave me a funny comment to win a package of Hero Arts felt flowers.

Hi Cheryl- I hope your daughter's okay. It brings back a memory for me w/ my mom (she didn't fall off a chair- she fell thru the ceiling when I was in high school (she was attempting to kill bees in the attic), in any case, my stepdad and I were mean by telling her the next morning "what? were you trying to be lionel richie and dance on the ceiling- it was the 80's what can I say?) Anyway, that's my funny memory (at my mom's expense). But she recovered and I hope your daughter is okay too- I can just imagine Cliff telling you that he could glue the chair back together LOL! Take care and God Bless~

I'm not a handy dandy person but I know there is wood glue but maybe Cliff has to do something else to reinforce the limbs. Anyhow, one day I caught my father, who is in his late 80's and blind, using the electric drill trying to repair a 40 year old wooden stool - it was wobbly and I think my sister fell down. Somehow he used that electric drill and today it's good as new.

Speaking of falling, I remember the first time I met my in-laws in 1967. We went to visit them on Maui (we lived on the mainland back then). Well my father in law decides to go up in their attic above the living room and check some things. He slipped while up there. We heard a lot of noise and came running from the kitchen. Guess what we saw, 2 legs dangling thru the ceiling, only 2 legs. He was moving them like he was trying to walk. Believe me after we found out he was okay we could not stop laughing about the 2 legs dangling from the ceiling. You had to see it to believe it.

Oops. Hope that your daughter is okay. Actually, I'll just bet that some people believe that it could be fixed but probably more than just glue. Tee-hee. I remember that my dad used to keep using Super Glue to repair a favorite folding chair. I finally just bought my parents a new chair everybody kept crashing the chair in front of the dog. I always knew when something happened 'cuz the dog would have a tilted head look.

Cute card for something made out of scraps. You must have a good working pile of scraps. Mine, I swear, is just rubbish but I keep saving stuff anyways.

You must be bummed that your favorite chair is broken, but more importantly, hope Michelle didn't get hurt. Your card is really cute. I love all of the details you put into it (background and clothes). The felt flowers are so cute and I didn't use mine yet! Good luck to the people telling you something funny. Happy Friday and have fun taping the show!

Hi there,
Hope that your daughter was ok an all her food stay in her plate on the table and not all over the house! This just totally brings me back to the time my 2 year old was in the bathroom and my mother was helping her with her bottom and she did something unsure what it was and she cracked the seat in the bathroom and at the same time grabbing onto the towel rack to help her from falling but it didn't help and there my daughter is screaming so loud as if she was the one that fell but she was screaming because she saw grandma falling instead! If you got to see it you would oh so bust laugh and shishi yourself!......

Well enjoy
lol

Cute card! Your poor daughter :)
Once when I was in college, I had just heated up my microwave spaghetti dinner & had taken it upstairs to my room to eat while watching a taped copy of "Days of Our Lives". While I was sitting there I couldn't find my dinner . . . next thing I knew I felt a warm wetness soaking through my shorts. #$!& I just sat on my long awaited dinner!
