Happy New Years to you!!!

Hope you all had a great Christmas! I'm still recovering from losing my voice. I saw my doctor the day before Christmas and from then on, it was downhill all the way. I think my husband enjoyed the quiet days but I was going bonkers not being able to talk. LOL! I made this box last week after I gave up on another box that I was working on. I got distracted while looking at this die. This BAB die from Sizzix is actually quite cute and can be used on a number of things.
This box is called Box #3 and it was initially a Crafter's Home exclusive die but is now available to all the stores. It is a very big box and can probably hold a mini loaf of banana bread. This next box is a new die from Sizzix called ornate box. It's a smaller version of Box #3 but with a cut out window on the cover. I used some new girlie stamps from Hero Arts. I made a bunch of these to give away.I think I overdid the blush on her cheeks.I just have a few more to make and then I'm finished. Here's a photo of the side of the box so you can see the size of it compared to the first box on this post.
Well, I want to wish all of you a very Happy New Years and thank you for always visiting my blog!!! See you in 2010!!!

Wishing you lots of merry!

I've been busy the last couple days finishing up on some Christmas cards and last minute shopping. This first card actually started off in a whole different color scheme but I kept changing my mind and this was the end result. Do you ever do that too?I love this Dandelion stamp. It is one of my favorite holiday stamps. The word stamp is from Hero Arts. The snowflake border punch is from EK Success.
I've had this box sitting on my table for several weeks now. I kept putting it to the side everytime I got distracted with something else. It is an XL die from Sizzix called popcorn box. It turned out just the way I wanted it. The size is quite big and great for putting treats in it. The snowflake is a Sizzlit die that I glittered with stickles and topped it off with a gemstone. These are so cute! One of my husband's customers made these his and hers snowman covered Hersheys candy bars. The packaging is so cute that I'm afraid to eat the candy in it. LOL!
Well, I can't believe that Christmas will be here in 2 days and then it's New Years. I'm so grateful for all the friends that I have made this past year through this blog and I really appreciate all the wonderful comments you left on my posts.
Enjoy the holidays and Merry Christmas!!!

Happy Holidays!!!

I spent a couple days last week finishing our Christmas cards for this year. I wish I could say that's us in front of our home but it isn't our home. It was taken on one of our trips from this year. I used Bo Bunny cardstock for the base of the card. The stamp is of course Hero Arts and I am loving the new metal gemstones. They look like brads without the long metal legs. The punch is from Fiskars which I bought from Stamps & Memories awhile back.
Here's a quick giftcard that I made using the Sizzix XL giftcard holder die. I used Baxter from Dandelion (hope it's the correct name) and the word stamp is from Hero Arts. Sorry the photo is so dark. It is a pretty blue IRL.
Well, Christmas is coming up real fast and I still need to finish shopping hopefully today. My craft room is a mess and I am working on more Christmas cards and tags.
Tomorrow I'll be posting the Hero Arts cards that we made yesterday at the store. It was funny because I didn't expect such a big turnout with people doing their Christmas shopping. But, it was great to see everyone again and lots of new faces too.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great Sunday!!! We're off to exercise and then we have a party to attend.

Where have I been?

This past Saturday I had a make & take at the store using one of the new Sizzix scoreboard dies being released this month. These dies will only cut chipboard or matboard and scores all the crease lines for you. Here is the business card holder we made. This box will hold up to 32 business cards. You can also put a giftcard in it too. Here is the Sizzix Santa sleigh pop-up card that I finally got around to finishing. It's been sitting on my work table for weeks now. The sleigh is quite easy to put together. You can put anything in the sleigh but I decided to use the Santa sizzlit set to decorate it. The tree is an EK Success punch that I made to look 3-D and also to add some color to the card.
Santa looks quite tanned but it was the only skin colored paper that I could find in my drawer of scraps. Here is the make & take that I did for Crafts In The City on Wednesday. The cone was made using the Sizzix circle scallop die. We texturized the paper and die cutted snowflakes and attached some red bling and of course I had a cute package of candy to put in the cones.
Now I'm working on the make & takes for the Hero preview party next weekend at the store. Hope you can come and join us.
Thanks for stopping by today. I really appreciate reading all your nice comments. I hope to do some Christmas shopping this weekend. Have a great weekend!!!

The new pillowbox

I've been anxious to see the new pillowbox die that Sizzix just released. It's a different twist on the pillowbox die. At first I was a little confused while assembling the box because of the pleats on the side of the box. I didn't know what piece went where. But the instructions is so easy to follow that it turned out to be quite easy. I made a chipboard ornament out of the flower tag die and attached it to the box.The weight of the ornament made the box a little top heavy since I didn't fill the box with anything so I had to tape the box down to take the photo. You can sort of see the pleat on the side of the box. Here is a shot of the back of the box. See on the top where the box closes? That's where it looks exactly like the pillowbox. The bottom of the box is flat so that is what makes this box look different.
Tomorrow I will be at the store doing a Sizzix make & take from 10-12 pm. I listed the supplies to bring on the site. Hope you can join us!
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great Friday!!! I'm off in a bit to have lunch with my gf Teri.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

Everytime I hear this song, it makes me happy. I decided to stay home on Friday and play with my new crafty toys. That also makes me happy. This first box is the new Sizzix carry all box that just landed at the store last week. This one is pretty big too! I used my new gigantic MS punch called flower bed. Uh, I kind of messed up on centering it on the box. But, you get the idea right. I used one of Jean's older Christmas stamp (bird) for the decoration and embossed a Hero Arts word stamp.
This card came together because of all the extra HK embossed images I had lying around my table. That's another new gigantic MS punch. I love how it punches out the thank you with the letters linked together. So easy peasy. I'll probably use this for all my Christmas thank you's. I don't think you can see it but the red circle is embossed with the candy cane folder. This is an easy gift tag that I made. The snowflake is one of the embossing folders from Sizzix. I just stuck a blue gemstone in the center of the snowflake. This can be made in a couple minutes.
This last gift tag came about because I had a leftover piece of the flower bed punch border from the Sizzix carry all box and I couldn't throw it away. Stamp is another Hero Arts word stamp from one of last years clear set.
Well, hope you're enjoying the holidays and thanks for always stopping by! I really appreciate all the comments you leave. Have a wonderful Monday!

A quick one

I was going through my stacks of dies over the weekend and came across last years Sizzix gingerbread man die. He's a hot one. I was just going to make a card with him but decided to use this large tag pocket die cut from the Ellison Prestige machine. So easy to make. You can stick some candy canes in it like I did or even a packaged stamp to give as a gift to someone.
Well, thanks for stopping by today!!! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends and enjoy the feast!!!

Season's greetings

Another week has gone by and finally able to post again. Yesterday I played with some new CC Design stamps that the store just got in. I have so much to learn on coloring with copic markers. I really enjoy making these half cards. I embossed the background of this card using the new Cuttlebug folder called candy cane stripes.
The bench is a separate stamp from CC Designs. Perfect for the sitting down character stamps that they have in the line. The snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch that I bought last year and I haven't seen it around this year.
Well, I'm off to City Mill to look for a screw. Hope they have it so I can fix a machine for one of the customers.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you're enjoying your day!!!

Hello friend...

Been away a lit bit longer than usual. I haven't been in a real creating mood lately and just been busy working. But last night, I sat down to play with some new craft toys that I got yesterday and finally made something. The C.C. Designs stamp on this card was given to me from Barbie. Thanks so much Barbie, I love it! So sweet of you!I am a real novice at coloring with copic markers. I must of dumped so many images while attempting to color in the lines. Lol! I wanted to use this new scallop border punch that I got from the store. The background stamp is a Hero Arts stamp called friend definition and the word is from the clear occasions set.
Here is one of the images I almost dumped because I went out of the lines. I decided to use it on this new XL die that was just released called bag with handles. I used the MS icicle border punch to make the grass and it worked. Here's a side view of the bag so you can see how big this bag is. Lots of goodies will fit in this one.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you're having a great week and tomorrow is a holiday but I still have to work.

A beary post

I finally got my hands on these new Build a Bear TI folder sets yesterday and between cutting kits, I made these 2 cards. The first card is from the Beary Christmas set. I used all the colors that are in the Build a Bear logo to make the Christmas card. I wanted it to look fun and bright. This card took a little longer because I layered all the embossed pieces on the bear. I even had to take my magnifying glass out just so I could see where I was cutting. LOL!
I added the bell to his bow but I think it might be hard to mail a card like this with the bell on it. See that cute little pompom on his cap, I got it from Stamps & Memories awhile back. This next card uses the Beary Birthday TI folder set. I like this folder because it has paw prints all on the background. I know it's a little hard to see on this photo. The actual Build a Bear dies have not come in yet so I had to substitute with an older bear die that I found at the store. This is bear #3. In fact there are still some dies left.
I'm still working on cutting kits for this week Saturday's make & take. Hope you can join us!
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great humpday!!!

Piece of my past and a red nosed reindeer

The other day I was looking for something in my cabinet and came across this old Liberty House ad in the Star Bulletin newspaper. It was dated back in 1988 and in the front section of the newspaper. I actually forgot that I kept this. This is a picture of one of the dresses that Liberty House picked up for their Easter ad. And yes, I remember making hundreds of them. This is what I did before becoming a sales rep and before making paper crafts. I designed dresses and sold them to Liberty House. I think I still have a sample of this dress somewhere in my house. LOL! Anyways, I thought it would be fun to share a piece of my past with you.
Here is a card that I made this past Saturday. I just had to have this new reindeer punch from EK Success which I got from the store. Isn't he cute? The only reason why I made him red was when I first took the punch out, I grabbed the first piece of cardstock in my scrap pile. I didn't want to throw it away so I ended up using it.
This is the first time that I am using this Spellbinders borderbilities die. I like how it just cuts only 1 side of the edge. There is another matching border die in this set that actually cuts out the whole border.Well, hope you all had a great weekend! I got a lot of scrapbooking done. I am such a slow scrapper that I only made 4 pages but at least I am getting closer to the end of the album.
Thanks for stopping by today and before I forget, I will be at the store doing a make & take this coming Saturday from 10-12 pm. Have a great week!!!

From bag to box

I guess I've been MIA again but I have been making stuff and just haven't gotten around to posting them. Here is another version of the gingerbread house bag die that I used on the post below this. I like to play with the dies that I have and use them in different ways. I made this into a box instead of a bag so it could hold more treats. It can be used as centerpieces on a table.
I put a piece of styrofoam at the bottom of the box and stuck all the candy canes in it. Then filled it with shredded paper. The outline of the windows and door is glittered with green Doodlebug glitter. You can email me if you want the instructions on making this bag die into a box. This is the pink mini album that we made last week for the make & take at the store. Everything was pink since it is breast cancer awareness month.
Well, the weekend is here and I will be working on my scrapbook album once again which explains why I have been MIA. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!!

Pink gingerbread?

Hey I'm still waiting to hear from Evie who won the Christmas TI set. Evie, if I don't hear from you today, I will draw another winner tomorrow.
I forgot to post this gingerbread bag that I made last weekend. It probably should be the color of gingerbread but since I love pink, I went with that color instead.
This is another easy XL die that Sizzix came out with. I glittered the outline of the windows and door with ultra fine glitter from Hero Arts.
The panda bear stamp is a new holiday release from Dandelion Designs. Here is a picture of the back of the bag which is the same as the front but you could probably just decorate the front.Last week Saturday, Jean from Dandelion did a make & take at the store and some of the customers brought us some cute raks. This one is from Cindy and Carol and she made this cute pumpkin out of a scallop circle Marvy punch. It was so cute the way they decorated it with Jean's stamps. Thanks so much Cindy and Carol!!!This next rak was from Kelli. She filled the bag with a lollipop, ribbons and a stamp. Thanks so much Kelli!!! And Carole gave the both of us her famous avocados again. I have never seen or eaten avocados like the ones she has on her tree but they taste so creamy. They look kind of strange but they really taste great!!! Thanks again Carole!
I'm doing a make & take tomorrow at the store from 10-12 pm and hope to see everyone again! The theme is of course "pink" since October is breast cancer awareness month.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!!!

Winner, new Sizzix die and Halloween goodies

The winner of the Sizzix TI set from random.org is number 6. Evie said...
Wow! Thanks for the chance. Such a nice card. Love visiting your J's store to see all the new dies coming in...so many choices. I have been crafting for long time, beginning from a friend's invitation to form a little stamp group...very basic then. It's simply amazing to see how crafting has evolved and grown.
Congrats Evie!!! And please email me. This was fun getting to know something about all of you who left me a comment.
Here is something I made on Friday using the new XL candy cup die from Sizzix. With this die, you can cut out 2 different sizes to make candy cups. The Hello Kitty cup uses 6 panels and the red Christmas cup uses 5 panels making it a little smaller candy cup. This die was really easy putting the cup together. The stamp image on the red cup is a new holiday release from Dandelion Designs. This is what the inside of the candy cups look like. See the difference in size. Both hold quite a bit of candy. Here's a really cute Halloween bag that my gf Teri made for me. It was filled with lots of goodies inside the bag and out of the bag. She even put some pretty nail polish in there for me. I actually had to take a picture of the bag out of it's clear package because by the time I took this photo, most of the goodies were eaten. LOL! I'm not sure the name of the stamp she used or company it is from but it's really cute! The bag is a Sizzix die exclusive for SU and see that flourish behind the stamped image? It is an EK Success punch that Teri bought from the store. Thanks so much Teri! I loved this cute bag!!!Before I forget, this month is breast cancer awareness month. I will be doing a cute pink make & take over at the store on Saturday, October 17 from 10-12 pm. Hope to see you there!

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you're having a great Tuesday!!!

Another giveaway

Remember this card that I posted on October 3rd? It was one of the make & takes for Ben Franklin Crafts. Well, I have an extra Textured Impressions set to give to someone. This TI set is called Christmas set.
Just leave me a comment on this post. Tell me anything about yourself. It's fun to get to know each other.
I've been playing with some new dies that I just picked up from the store. I will be posting them here soon. Yesterday I scrapped some pages from one of our many trips. I really need to finish my album from 2008 and start on 2009.
Well, thanks for stopping by today and I will be pulling a winner for the TI set over the weekend.

Happy Hallowen gift card holder

Sizzix just released this new gift card holder die and let me tell you, it is the easiest way to die cut a bunch of gift card holders. I've been doing so many Halloween projects using the usual orange, green, purple and black colors that I decided to change colors and use pink and lots of glitter. I punched out a pink MS haunted house punch and glittered it with stickles stardust. The bats are stamps from Hero Arts and the oval scallop frame are nesties glittered with Doodlebug glitter.
Here's the inside of the gift card holder. All you need is 2 way tape to tape the edges down. I know I will be making a lot of these for Christmas gifts.
It has been so warm in my house that the black ants have been invading my keyboard. So every now and then, I get a stinging bite. It's making me look down and around my desk as I type. Ugh!
Thanks for stopping by today and looking forward to seeing everyone at Jean's make & take this weekend at the store. Have a great humpday!!!

Ben Franklin Crafts make & takes

Today was "world cardmaking day" and to help celebrate, Cheri and I did some Sizzix make & takes at the all Ben Franklin Crafts stores on Oahu.
Actually, we did this first make & take at the Market City store yesterday. We made a Hello Kitty Christmas ornament. So cute! This morning I was at the Paa St. store and we made a trick or treat take out box with Hello Kitty. The embossed words is a brand new Sizzix Halloween folder set.
While I was at the Paa St. store, Cheri was at the Enchanted Lake store and they made this Christmas card with last year's TI set. I hope you can see the snowman on the card. This card only used embossing folders. Another fast card to make for Christmas. Then we met up at the Pearl City store in the afternoon. Joy from The Joy of Crafting tv show surprised me with this cute french fry box filled with chocolate goodies. It was packaged so neatly that I didn't want to open it. She made this owl using Marvy punches. So clever!I also got a bag of avocados and some Ritz cracker snacks from Carole. Thanks so much Carole! I ate the snacks during the make & take. We didn't get to eat until after 3 pm.
We made this Christmas treat bag at the Pearl City store. It's not a good picture of the bag but it holds quite a bit of treats. It was cut from one of the Ellison dies.
So glad to see all of you who came to the make & takes! Hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Cheri brought many samples with her and I can hardly wait to get a bunch of the new dies for myself!
Don't forget you still have time to post a comment on the post below for a chance to win the new winter set TI.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!!! I need to clean up my mess!
