Tweet treats

While I was at the store last Saturday, I picked up this Sizzix birdhouse die. I've been drawn to it for awhile now but everytime I get distracted, I end up putting the die back. I made it into a treat holder using the fold method. Can you see all the green lifesavers through the peephole?
Notice that the scraps look familiar? Sometimes I get so lazy but need to run paper through the Xyron machine so I just go through my drawer of Xyron scraps.
By the way, that bird and vine is a punch that my gf Teri gave me awhile back and I finally pulled it out from my punch drawer. I have so many punches stacked on each other that I tend to forget what punches I have. The red rose is from the Sizzix 3-D flowers die.
Here's a closer look at how I made the treat house. It's folded at the bottom and attaches at the top with a glue dot.
Sorry I haven't been posting as often but lately it's been really hot downstairs in my craft room and I feel less inspired when I'm hot and sweaty.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you're have a terrific Thursday!

Odette

Well hello and how was your weekend? I got a little sunburned on my face yesterday and wished I had worn my visor at the birthday party that we attended. Nothing worst than having sunglass tan lines on your face!
I thought I'd try something different as I was assembling this box on Saturday. I had to make some happy birthday boxes and decided to use my Martha Stewart happy birthday punch to punch out around the top of the box. It fit perfectly around the box. I used Odette from TGF's roll call stamp set since I colored her last week. The star punches are Fiskars punches that I bought from Ben Franklin Crafts awhile ago. This box is the size of a Crayola crayon box and if you look really good, I didn't have tissue paper to stick inside the box so I found some kleenex tissue to use instead. Lol! But you can't really tell.
Thanks for all the congratulations on the award that I received last week! So thoughtful of all of you!
Thanks for stopping by today and hope your Monday is going great!!!

Hello Summer

Summer is one of the stamps from TGF's roll call set and I thought she would be perfect to use on this Sizzix gatefold card. The circle frame she is on is a Hello Kitty frame die. The large scallop circle is a Spellbinders nestie. Once again, everything is made from extra die cut scrap pieces that I had in my drawer. The flowers on the card is a Hello Kitty sizzlit die. I outlined the flowers with Tsukineko's watermark pen.
Dotted texture on the white circle is from the Sizzix X-mas embossing folder set.
I stamped the inside of the card using Hero Arts clear stamp.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!!!

Jade

I've been wanting to use this Tim Holtz embossing folder for some time now and finally got around to it. I used Coordinations white wash cardstock and I really like how it turned out after I sanded the embossed image. Stamp used is Jade from TGF roll call set.
Lately I've been using a lot of pinks and oranges which remind me of summer colors.
I recently bought this Tim Holtz die called styled labels and decided to decorate the inside of the card. The die comes with 2 different label shapes and is a magnetic die that you can use with different magnetic pieces.
Word stamp is also on the same set from TGF. Border punch is Fiskars and just arrived in the store.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!!

Monday again

Have you ever had one of those crafty days when nothing seemed to come out right? This one was a disaster from the start. Although you probably can't see it, there is a rip in the paper on the left side of the white background. After I made the shaker part of this box, I realized that I didn't put enough beads in it because when you looked at it, you couldn't see any beads. So, me being the perfectionist that I am, I pulled the box apart, shaker beads and all. While doing that, I ripped the paper. Oops! Then after putting the box together again, while I was tying down the flap, the beads started falling out of the box. Oh my! Half of it is in my carpet.
So after putting the box together again for the 3rd time, I ended up punching the holes on the flap towards the left of the box. It should of been centered but it is what it is.
Here's a side view of the box.
Stamp is "Monday" from TGF. Box is a Sizzix pro die called tall box with scallop flap. Shaker beads and butterfly punch are Martha Stewart. Oval and scallop ovals are Spellbinders nesties.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!

Recycle it

Here's a cute Sizzix project to make. Before you throw out that clear acetate box that you were saving in your closet, consider making it into a candy box. Cover it with cardstock on both ends of the box, run it through an embossing folder and fill it with some candy coated almonds.Tie it with a pretty ribbon and you're done. Here's a side view of the box.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you're having a great humpday!

It's Monday

I've had this pillow box lying on my craft table for months now. I can't even remember why I put it together in the first place. But after I colored and cut Monday out, she fit perfect on the box. She's one of the new stamps from the Greeting Farm.I used a Sizzix XL die called pillow box. I cut the flower out of chipboard. The flower is a new die called flower with leaves and stem. I embossed the box with the birds, flowers and branches embossing folder set from Sizzix. And did you know that pink is my favorite color?
My husband and I had a little embarrassing moment this morning during our walk to the beach. He got stopped by a policeman while running through the "don't walk" light. We tend to run through the crosswalk if there are no cars even though the light signal says don't walk. Well, the policeman told him that the fine for that is $130 but he was letting him go and not to do it again. I actually stopped myself before running alongside with him since I saw the police car coming with blue lights flashing and I didn't want to get in trouble. Whew! We were lucky he didn't fine us.
Anyways, hope you had a great holiday weekend. Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful evening!

Happy 4th!!!

When I saw this on Eileen's blog the other day, I knew I had to make one. These make cute guest towel holders for your bathroom. And because the 4th of July is this weekend, I decided to go with the red, white and blue theme. The cupcake holder is a Sizzix scoreboard die.And speaking of Eileen, I found this picture of the both of us taken this year at CHA winter at the Sizzix booth. She is the designer of all the scoreboard dies.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!!!
