Woof!

I made a little doggie ornament the other day between cutting kits for today's make & take at Ben Franklin Crafts Pearl City store. Got a little distracted after finding this cute die in my stash. I used the Sizzix dog die with paw from the baby line and cut it out of chipboard.
This next card came about as I was playing with Tim Holtz distress embossing powder which I got from the store. It's kind of hard to see in the picture but I used 2 different colors of embossing powder for the stamped background. This embossing powder is different from regular embossing powder as it looks and feels like sand. But it gives your stamped image a more textured look. I used some scraps to finish the card. The background stamp is a Hero Arts stamp and the cute little girl and word are Dandelion Design stamps.I made another card before making this one but I used different colors on the first card. You can't really see it well but I spritzed the pink shapeability die with a new product from Tsukineko called Ink Potion #9. I added Memento Rosebud reinker and Vegas gold metallic ink to the Ink Potion #9 bottle to get the sparkly gold effect on the paper.
This photo is closer and you can see some of the sparkly on the paper.
Well, I have to get ready for the paper party and I hope to see you there today.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!!

Special friends

Last week I received a bunch of surprises from some special people. I mean, I look forward to getting new samples and catalogs in the mail everyday but when I got my invoices from Jean, I was thrilled to see this card in the envelope too. And with it was a See's GC, my favorite candy store! Yummy! Thank you so much Jean for being so thoughtful!!! You are so sweet!!! It definately sweetened my day. This next one is a Hello Kitty collage frame that Michelle gave me last Friday at the tv shoot. OMG people, it is just so beautiful and jaw dropping!!! Thank you so much Michelle!!! You are so sweet and kind and I totally love this Hello Kitty frame!!! This last one is from one of my dearest, closest girlfriend Cheri from Sizzix. My own Sizzix Build a Bear. He is so soft, cuddly and cute! Thank you so much Cheri and it was so sweet of you to send it to me!!!
I'm excited to see her next month and we're going to be doing our marathon make & takes once again. One of the new releases coming out is our Build a Bear dies. Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be posting some new projects that I've been working on.
And before I forget, I'll be at the Ben Franklin Crafts Pearl City store this Saturday for their annual paper party doing a make & take. It is a super cute Halloween project! Have a great Wednesday!!!

The Joy of Crafting

This past Friday was another taping of the "Joy of Crafting" tv show. This was a little different because Joy wanted to tape a show on some of the Hawaii crafty bloggers. And so I was able to get both Jen and Michelle to come on the tv show and talk about crafting and blogging. We had so much fun!!! And these 2 are not shy at all. LOL!
Here's a photo that Jen took of us and cute little Amara, Michelle's daughter.
Now here's Brad and Ikaika (he likes to eat), the 2 dudes that film the show.
I didn't realize the walls were that green until I looked at these photos. Here's the 2 girlies getting their mikes. They both look so pretty! Here's Michelle and Jen with the show host, Joy. The show airs in October on OC 16. And thanks Joy!!! We all had a great time!!!
As Joy would say, Happy Crafting!!!

Chunky glitter

I finally got a chance to sit down and play with my little bottles of chunky glitter from Doodlebug.
This stuff is easier to work with than ultra fine glitter which gets all over the place. I picked up this new Dovecraft daisy punch from the store over the weekend and punched away. This card started off being a flower card but I ended up turning this into a thank you card. The orange frame is a new Sizzix die called scallop frame die. This card was actually quite easy to put together because the thank you part was a leftover from another project and the asian doll was a reject sitting in my reject pile. Do you keep your rejects or throw them out? Just wondering what everyone else does with their stuff.
Anyways, Janis I hope you are reading this because I haven't heard from you and I would like to send you your stamp set.
This morning as we were leaving the house to go to the park, I noticed my husband forgot the rubbish bag at the top of the stairs. And he's been doing this a lot lately. So I picked up the bag and threw it down the 25 stairs hoping it would land at the bottom and it did with a thud. Then I heard a sudden burst of laughter coming from the garage. Thank goodness he thought it was funny. Ha!
Well, thanks for stopping by today and hope you're having a great Tuesday and keeping cool!

Winner and a pink cat

The winner for the Hero clear Ocassions stamp set is "Janis". I don't have your email Janis so can you email me your address? I'll get this in the mail to you sometime this week. Thanks for playing everyone and leaving your sweet comments!!! I appreciate all of you stopping by my blog.I was at Stamps & Memories last week and they got in a shipment of Halloween dies from QK. I picked up this cat die which was actually a black cat for Halloween but I changed the color to pink. This one reminds me of a siamese cat. It looks like the one my step mom has although hers isn't siamese. The card is a Sizzix XL scallop card die and word stamp is from Hero Arts.
Yesterday was so hot and humid and we were out for most of the day trying to keep cool in the air conditioned stores. After we got home, I ended up having to cut 60 kits and I am halfway there. It was uncomfortable but hopefully can finish cutting them this week. Thank goodness for the BSE machine.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a great Monday!!!

Feeling loopy and a RAK

I was so excited when I got my hands on this new border punch from Martha Stewart. You can use it in so many different ways too. The only thing about this punch, is you have to make sure the paper is cut to the correct measurements in order for all the loops to fit.
The kitty stamp is a wood stamp from last years Hero Arts catalog. But it is in a clear stamp set in this years catalog called "I love my cat". The words came off a clear stamp set called occasions.
There are lots of words on that set.
I have an extra "Occasions" clear stamp set that I'd like to give to someone. Leave me a comment and tell me what's your favorite holiday. I'll pick someone Friday evening to send this stamp set to.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you're having a great Thursday!!!

Sweet birthday card

This past Saturday was my GF Teri's birthday and so on Monday, I took her to lunch. We went to On-On Chinese Restaurant and had a real nice time and went shopping at the store after lunch. Here's the card that I made her. She actually gave me this stamped image the week before but I wanted to use it on her card. The card is actually a lighter pink but the photo came out quite dark. This is a GF image and I don't know the name of the girl but it is such a cute one.
This was actually the first image that I colored but I kept going out of the lines so I ended up cutting the image out and didn't want to waste it. I made this luggage tag for my Sizzix bag.
I haven't been posting much lately. I am working on some make & takes that are coming up this month and next month and also new projects for another tv show taping.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you're enjoying your Wednesday! I need to head out for some Starbucks to give me some energy so I can stamp.

Keeping it simple

I've been meaning to play with some of my new punches that I bought from Ben Franklin Crafts last month. These Ek Success punches are the best when it comes to storage since they fold up flat and are stackable.I had some leftover Dandelion stamped images from last Saturday's make & take. The girl and boy stamps are so cute and easy to use on just about anything.
I have a birthday card to post but you have to check back on Monday since I want to be sure that Teri sees it first before I post it. Today is her birthday and if you get a chance, stop by her blog and wish her a happy birthday and I think she has a birthday rak too.
Supplies:
Dandelion Designs stamps, Hero Arts word stamps, and Ek Success punches.
Hope you had a super Saturday! I sure did. Went shopping and bought a bunch of stuff from Ala Moana.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!!!
