Sorbet
I didn't get to do anything crafty this past weekend but I made this box last Friday. I was thinking of sorbet ice cream and decided to use those colors to make this heart box. I don't have a photo program yet so I used the one on my computer and the colors turned out quite bright. It is really a lot softer IRL.
This Sizzix die is called "heart box and key" and it is an XL die. I embossed the heart with one of the new birthday embossing folders set.
And since I had this kitty lying around, I decided to put her on the box. The rose is also a leftover from the last paper party. I usually will keep my scraps but I do have my cleaning moments and end up throwing things out.

Meeting Kris
Last week Friday, I finally got to meet in person, Kris from Maui and her hubby. She's the sweetest thing!!! I met her through blogland and she's got so many creative ideas on her blog. Go check her out. Plus she's on several design teams. She has 2 beautiful daughters and another baby on the way. She even brought me some delicious cookies from Maui. Thanks Kris!!!
I made her a little goodie bag to take back home. I put some stamps in this bag but I couldn't fit the rest of the items in it.
This die is a Sizzix pro die called tall bag. I've used it so many times for different things. The stamp is from CC Designs called Little Bug Emma. She looks a little crooked but she isn't. It must of been the way I took the picture. I lost my photo editing program on my old computer so I'm using the one that comes with this computer.

Stinky day
This was me the day my computer crashed. Lol! Actually, I made this card the day before and I was all ready to post it and I couldn't get my computer to turn on.
I used Dandelion Design stamps and now I can't remember the name of the skunk. I cut the scalloped edge card piece with the new Tim Holtz edge die. Grass punch is a Martha Stewart punch.

I'm back
After 14 years of windows pc's, I switched to a Mac. And I totally love it!!! I still have lots to learn since it is a little different from what I am used to but it is so worth it.
I actually made this card a couple weeks ago along with some other cards but haven't been able to post it since my computer crashed. I found this stamped image on my piles of scrap and decided to use her. It is from the Hero Arts clear set called "sweet wonderful you".
The punched flower on the card is a Martha Stewart punch called "pop-up water lilly" and comes in 2 sizes.
Here's a closer view on the flower and how it looks popped up.

No picture post
I actually had several cards to post the other day but with a blink of an eye, everything was gone. My computer is gone and everything on it is gone. I am using my husband's really old computer just to get online. I'll be at Ben Franklin Crafts Market City store this Saturday from 10-12 pm doing a make & take at their paper party. If you are coming, please bring a pair of scissors and adhesive and hope to see you all there.
Have a great evening!!!

Apple Emma
Oh my...I guess it has been awhile since I last posted something. Lately I've been trying to eat more fruit. Bananas are my favorite and I eat them everyday when I can get my hands on buying them from Sam's. Apples are another favorite but I have to be in the mood because it takes time cutting the wedges and peeling the skin off. Until recently my husband showed me this wonder tool for cutting apple wedges. One push and it's all cut for you. I am so behind the times when it comes to kitchen gadgets.
So yesterday I was feeling fruity and decided to take out my Apple Emma stamp from CC Designs and finally put some ink on her. I used glossy accents on all the red apples. You can sort of see the shine.
And I've been seeing a lot of cards where the insides are decorated too so I decided to try it on this one. That border punch is a Martha Stewart punch and I can't remember the name of it. But I did get it from the store.
I had a wonderful surprise from one of our customers Diane. She sent me a beautiful Mother's Day tag card with a container filled with one of the best Chinese almond cookies I ever tasted. I've been eating some everyday and the container is almost empty. Yummy!

Thursday
Somedays I can't think of a title for my posts and so I try to keep it real simple. Thursday is the name of this new stamp from The Greeting Farm. She caught my eye while I was figuring out which stamp I wanted to make a card with.
The beanie on her head reminds me of my daughter who likes wearing stuff like that.
I found this giant ric rac in one of my drawers and that's how I chose the colors for this card. The background is a stamp from Hero Arts called cityscape which I bought to use on one of my scrapbook layouts. The border punch is a new one from EK Success called bubbles.
Today I'm working on my project for the make & take for Ben Franklin Crafts Market City paper party this month.

Thanks Kiki
Do you ever forget where you place things? I have been searching high and low in my craft room for the cutting pads for this Tim Holtz edge die. Hope I find it soon...
After I stamped and colored Kiki La Rue, I noticed it was so off centered and I didn't want to throw it away. I decided to use one of Tim's edge dies to cut out my shape.
This one is called ornate and it cuts only the edge out. So you can make your card any size that you want. The "thanks" word is a Martha Stewart border punch.
Well, I am off to an appointment. Thanks for stopping by today and hope you're having a wonderful Thursday!!!

A new obsession
Recently, I've been seeing a lot of deco tape used on cards in blogland. While I was in one of the Sanrio stores last week, I found a bunch of tape rolls with different designs and well, I ended up buying a bunch of them. They even have Hello Kitty ones.
So that is what inspired me to make this strawberry card. I used a Sizzix die called flower and strawberry to die cut the strawberry. This was a die from last year's release.
Mother's Day is coming up next month and here is another idea for mom using a Sizzix die. This one is the scoreboard tea cup die that is a brand new release. I had leftover purple covered chipboard so that is why the tea cup is purple. I embossed it with a new textured impression folder called birthday set #3.

With a cherry on top...
The early part of last year, my husband came home with this Sizzix die and asked me if I could make something with it. I must of forgotten about it since it was put away with all my other dies and I only found it recently while going through the mess.
I decided to put Miss Kiki La Rue on this cupcake since she is holding a cupcake too. By the way, this is an XL die called cupcake card with holder. I ran the cupcake holder part through my Fiskars paper crimper.
Threw on some chunky glitter for the frosting and a Sizzix rub-on for the word. Rub-on's come in handy when you're rushing to finish.
Here is what the cupcake holder looks like and the card that goes in the holder.

I'll be doing a make & take there from 10-12 pm. And when you're done, I'll be giving you some freebies. And to top it off, if you've been wanting a Sizzix Big Shot PRO machine, the store is having a drawing to give one away! Wow!
Thanks for stopping by today and I really appreciate all the sweet comments you leave me. Have a great Thursday and hope to see you on Saturday!!!

Hello Kitty in the garden
It's been awhile since I've taken out my Hello Kitty dies and made something with it. So today while packing up my things for tomorrow, I decided to use the Sizzix carry all box and put Hello Kitty on it.
I used the fence die from a couple years ago to decorate the box. And all the papers are scraps from other projects. Lately since I've been cleaning out my craft room, I've been finding stuff that I forgot I even had.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you're having a great Tuesday!

Mother's Day idea
There are a bunch of new dies that were just released from Sizzix and are in the stores now. This box is a scoreboard die and is called "box with scalloped flap". It is a lot bigger than the business card box. You can probably put a bunch of gift cards in it for your mom for a Mother's Day gift. I cut the roses out of felt from a new die called "3-D flowers".
The green label die cut is a cut out piece from the ornate box die. I embossed it with the animal print embossing folder.
Here's a close up of the rose. It was real easy to make the rose. I used a bamboo skewer to make it.
Here is the pocket card that we made this past Saturday for the make & take at the store. We used Tim Holtz dies to decorate the card. It's kind of a different look for me but I am liking the vintagy distressed look these days.

And everyone who comes to my table will get a free die, actually 2 in the package. But you have to make the project. Hope to see you there!

Need a new home...
Edit - The rack went to a brand new home. Thanks everyone!!!
I've been cleaning out my craft/sample room and decided to get rid of my paper tower rack. It is a 12x12 paper rack and has 29 trays. Should be 30 but somewhere down the road it is missing 1 tray. I would like to give this rack a new home. The frame is wood and is an EK Success rack that used to hold all my paper samples.
If you are interested, send me an email. You will also have to pick it up. And it is free.

For Mother's Day
I saw this cute Emma stamp in the store over the weekend and bought it even though Easter is over. To cover the eggs that are in the basket, I placed flowers over it. And I love how this pink/green color combination on the paper makes the colors stand out.
This card reminded me that Mother's Day is coming up. Even though my mom is no longer here, I still have many fond memories of her.
Initially I stamped "Happy Mother's Day" on the inside of the card but it somehow got messed up. So I decided to cover it up instead of throwing the card away.

A little early for Boy's Day
In between scrapbooking and working on several make & takes, I had some Dandelion stamps sitting on my craft table and decided to make something with the Boy's Day stamps.
I used an older Sizzix XL die called bag with scallops. I left the sides of the bag off and just used the main piece. The background stamp is one of my favorites right now from Hero Arts called dots. This was the first time I used my blue memento ink pad.

May all your wishes come true
This past Saturday, I was over at MunchKins in Mililani Town Center doing a make & take using all Hero Arts stamps and accessories. I precut the project using a Sizzix die and had everyone stamp, color, cut and put it altogether.
We used a clear stamp set called "magical castle"and the background stamp is a cling stamp called dots. This was the first time I used the new Hero hues paper and I like how one side is a color and the other side is white. And because it was Easter, I gave the ladies a Hersheys candy to put in their project. If you haven't gone there yet, go and check out MunchKins in Mililani Town Center.
One of the ladies that came by on Saturday brought me this really cute Easter basket that she made! Thanks so much Gail, it was so sweet of you!
My husband came home with this next basket from Jenny V. I met Jenny at Teri's summer party last year. I love that CC Designs stamp that she used to decorate the egg shaped basket. She filled it with lots of candies and even these really cute flower shaped buttons. They were so cute! Thanks so much Jenny!!! So thoughtful of you!
This next basket was made by Lori. It is so cute and I love all the different embellishments and colors that she used. Thanks so much Lori!!! I want to get the instructions from you for this one.

Simple is best
See the candy holder on the right? I cut that out couple months ago and never used it. It is a Sizzix scoreboard cupcake holder die. Yesterday, I stuck some grass and candies in it and bagged it up and attached a tag. I may use this idea for this weekend's luncheon.
I have a ton of scraps lying around on my craft table and ended up making this egg shaped card for Easter. The egg is cut from the Spellbinders egg nesties die.
The other day I found a bag filled with old EK Success punches that were my samples from back in the days and I found a little bunny punch. So I punched out little pink bunnies and stuck one on this card and decorated the inside of the card. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the card. But the inside says, Happy Easter honey bunny. All stamps are Dandelion Designs.

Quick and easy Easter treat box
This is one of my most favorite Sizzix boxes, box #2. I've used it so many times and in different ways. I cut out an oval shape using a Spellbinders nestie petite oval die. I just got this new punch from the store called daisy chain. It's so cute! By the way, it's on sale this week along with all the other new punches.
Bunny stamp and eggs are from Dandelion Designs. Coloring was fast since the stamps are small. I filled the box with M & M's and tied a ribbon on the top.
I'm going to be at MunchKins in Mililani Town Center this Saturday doing a make & take from 10-12 pm. Hope to see you out there!

Happy Easter
Here's what I made using the cut out piece from yesterday's post. I layered pieces of patterned cardstock over the cut out. The stamped background is a Hero Arts cling stamp called flower wallpaper. I used memento pink ink to stamp it and I love the subtle effect.
I actually cased this card style from one of the Hero designers here. I tried coloring this CC Design stamp from what I learned last Saturday when Jodie did a copic make & take at the store. Thanks Jodie for all the tips.
I was so thrilled last week when I picked up my gf Teri for lunch. She made me this really cute bunny basket/tote. You should check out her blog because she has a tutorial on how she made this little cutie. Thanks Teri, I really enjoyed all the delicious candies that came with this.

Friends forever
A couple of weeks ago, I was at the Ben Franklin Crafts store in Kailua for a meeting. Well, I walked by the closeout rack and happened to find a couple of my favorite brand punches on closeout and knew I had to grab them. I finally got the Fiskar's "oval and oval again" punches in two different sizes and had to make something with it.
I used a Spellbinder's nesties to cut the center of my card and decorated the inside with these girls from Hero Arts called "sweet wonderful you".
I stamped the background of the card with a Hero Arts cling stamp called "flower wallpaper". All inks used were Memento inks from Tsukineko.

Two Emma's
The new CC Designs stamps are so cute that I've been stamping and coloring at night while watching tv. Although I do have a harder time coloring inside the lines at night.
This first card is Cherry Emma. I used a Sizzix die for the frame called frame #2. The last time I used this die was for a tv shoot on The Joy of Crafting show where I made this into a gift card holder. The stamped background is a Hero Arts cling stamp called friends background and the white card is embossed from a Sizzix TI folder called winter set.
This next card is Lil' Bug Emma. I used an XL die from Sizzix called layered elegant card. Sorry that this picture is at an angle but I was having a hard time taking it because of the lighting in my kitchen. The bottom piece is embossed with a Sizzix TI called dots and the top layered piece is embossed with a new TI folder called birds, flowers and branches. I met the artist at the CHA show and she gave me this set to play with.
Well, I'm so glad the weekend is here and I can play with some new craft toys that I picked up last week. Thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday!!!

Spring Emma
Couple weeks ago while I was in the store, I saw these new egg nestabilities from Spellbinders and knew that I wanted to make something with it. I thought Spring Emma would be so cute sitting on one of the eggs.
For the card background, I used a Quickutz embossing folder that I bought from Stamps & Memories. The embossed oval die is from the Hello Kitty spring set. For some reason, her cheeks came out looking splotchy.
This next picture is a purse favor that I made using a Sizzix XL die called purse with ornate flap.
I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the dots background and made the flowers from the flower layers sizzlit set.
Well, I'm on my way out to some appointments this morning and grab myself a Starbucks coffee. Thanks for stopping by today and hope you're having a great Tuesday morning!

Easy treat holder
I totally forgot that I had this stamped image sitting on my craft table for weeks now. This is from the GF's cheeky collection called cheeky glamour. When my girlfriend Cheri was here last September, she left me this Sizzix die called "layered elegant card". I didn't want to make a card so I changed it into a treat holder using the fold technique.
Here's a side view of the treat holder and I stuck a package of rice crackers in there and it fit perfect.
The embossed white background is from the Hello Kitty spring set and I also used Spellbinders large scallop ovals in both large and small sizes. Glitter paper is from Trimcraft.

Have a magical day!
Yesterday in the late afternoon, I spent several hours cleaning my sample room aka craft room. Everytime there is a new release of sales catalogs, I have to purge out the old. So after 6 trips up and down 25 stairs, I took a break. Starbucks coffee break... and dessert break... and craft break...
I made this bag called "peek a boo bag" using a Sizzix 12x12 pro die. It was one of the simplest bags I ever made. It takes 1 sheet of 12x12 paper and you fold on the crease lines and that's it. No glue or adhesive! You can fill it with goodies and close the top of the bag with a ribbon.
Stamps used are from Hero Arts called "magical castle". To make the grass, I used the Martha Stewart fringe scissors.
Here's a side view of the bag. I tried to get a good photo but sometimes what I see through the camera isn't exactly the angle that I am trying to get. Anyways, the side is a triangle and the top of the bag flaps over.

Polka dots or stripes
Yesterday, I did a make & take at the store. This was actually planned for last Saturday, but the store was closed in the morning because of the tsunami watch.
We used the Sizzix Big Shot Pro machine to make this pocket card holder. It is a 12x12 die and I thought it would be nice to let everyone try out this new machine. The scallop circle is on one of the A6 card dies but you can also buy it separate. It is one of the movers and shapers die. I couldn't decide which Pebbles paper to use so I gave everyone a choice of polka dots or stripes. And polka dots was the favored paper to use.
We used Quincy from Dandelion Designs for the stamped image. He's such a cutie! And instead of putting a card in the pocket, I gave everyone nori rice crackers to put in the pocket.
We used the Sizzix Big Shot Pro machine to make this pocket card holder. It is a 12x12 die and I thought it would be nice to let everyone try out this new machine. Back to school
When my husband gave me this stamp back in January, the first thing I thought of was my daughter who recently went back to college to take a couple of classes this year.
I used the Sizzix gatefold card die to make the card. Stamp is from TGF. Background stamp is raindots background from Hero Arts. Spellbinders nestabilities Label 3 and paper is white core from DCWV.
The inside says, "hang in there". LOL! So far she has been and I don't know how she works full time at a nursing home, part time at a kid's store and goes to school 5 days a week.
