Fun kind of day

Thanks to everyone who came to the make-it take-it at my husband's store today! Tons of fun and great to see everyone again. And, I totally forgot to take pictures of the 2 cards we made. Shame on me.Here is a photo of one of the layouts that I made yesterday. I would post 2 of them but it takes me forever just to do a post with photos.
Here's a close up of the journaling but you probably can't even read it. Lol
This layout took me awhile to finish because I had the bright idea of threading each button. Which took me longer since threading a needle takes me double the time than like when I was younger.
Deets on the layout:
Cosmo Cricket papers and journaling card, Bazzill scallop paper, buttons, chipboard pieces, Elle's Studio date tag, Hero bling, and flower.
Next month I will be at Ben Franklin Crafts Pearl City doing a make-it take-it for their paper party. I'll update later with the date and time.
Thanks for stopping by and I'll post the other layout tomorrow.

A new Sizzix sample

I had to quickly make a sample of the new XL french fry box from Sizzix for my husband so people can see the size of the project after it's cut. This was fun to make and quite easy too. And I think it went faster than normal since I already had the images stamped and colored.
Here's the deets:
Sizzix XL french fry die, Spellbinders shapeabilities tag set, sm classic circle, Dandelion stamps, Hero Arts bling, red stickles, Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, Bazzill cs and ribbon.
Have a great weekend!

Scrappin' away

Ok, so I said I missed doing this and I really did. I made this layout yesterday and worked on 2 more today. I'll post those later.
I know the photo isn't that great, but my scanner doesn't work so I have to take these photos with my camera.
At least this is making me use my kits up.
The 2nd photo is a close up of the flower and heart.

Here's the deets:

Bazzill cs, Autum Leaves paper, Sizzlit months set, Making Memories flowers, Autumn Leaves buttons, FW date stamp, Hero Arts clear stamp, Heidi Swapp chipboard and zig zaggy scissors.
Today was such a hot day in my craft room that I must of sweat out all the junk in my system.
So glad tomorrow is Saturday and I'll be doing a make-it take-it at my husband's store. It's always fun to be around other ladies who enjoy this hobby as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by!

Missing this...

Scrapping. It's been way too long since I worked on any pages. My kits are piling up and I need to use them since I pay for them every month. This is the best way to go. Everything you need is in the kit except the glue and scissors. It's a lot of fun once you get started.
I did this yesterday and it only took me like less than 20 minutes between phone calls. I'm still taking it easy.

Heres the deets on the layout: Jenni Bowlin papers & chipboard, American Craft thickers, Heidi Swapp felt flower, Prima lace border and Hero Arts bling.
Today I started on another layout and finished it. Hopefully, I can keep this up and finish our trip photos from Chicago last year.
Thanks for stopping by and if you're coming to the make-it take-it on Saturday, I will see you then.

The scoop...

Hey, I ended up picking 3 winners instead of 1. So Jodi, Cheryl and Jenine, email me your addresses so I can get the stamps in the mail to you. Congrats ladies!!!
I need to really start cleaning out my stuff since I no longer have space to move in my craft room. And I'm also one of those collector type people who shop and never use the things I buy. I will be randomly picking people who leave comments on this blog from now on to send stuff to.
I know I haven't been posting on a regular basis like I should be but as most of you know, I also post for my husband's store blog too.
I'll be on a little break here since I'm quite ill right now. I'm not sick with the flu or anything but in a lot of pain.
Also, if you live on the Big Island, I will be doing a couple Sizzix make-it take-its at the Hilo Ben Franklin store this Saturday, July 19th. Stop by and say hello.

I'm still here...

I've been working on several different projects these past couple weeks. Since I have to tape 2 shows for Ben Franklin Crafts later this week, I had to come up with a bunch of samples. I'll post them later when the shows air.
And I guess you could say I was on a roll, so I made a bunch of cards using Jean's new stamps.
These were fun to play with but a lot more coloring than I'm normally used to.
Today was such a hot and humid day and I had planned to spend most of the day working on orders but I ended up hopping in my car and driving to Starbucks just to get some a/c and cool off.

Thanks for stopping by and since I've got some extra stamp sets, leave me a comment about where you like to shop and what you like to shop for. I'll pick a winner in a few days.

New and cute...

As soon as I got my samples, I knew I had to play with them. These stamps are made with really good rubba. I can ink them up and the images stamp so
well. Especially for me since I tend to have a heavy hand and I'm always smearing my images.
If you've never tried Jean's Dandelion stamps before, you really need to try them.
I used the Sizzix XL shaker box die for this sample. It fit the image perfectly.
Here are a couple of pictures so you can see what the box looks like. It's
great for filling with little candies and makes a cute little gift for someone.
The blue card is actually a gift card holder that I saw on someone's blog and I can't remember who it was. I used the same words from the shaker box. That puppy stamp is so cute with the cupcake and he has a name but I forgot it.
The last picture is made from the Sizzix XL box die. It is actually big enough to fit a cupcake. One of our customer's (Michele) came up with the idea. She even dropped off the samples
with cupcakes in the boxes and gave me all the measurements. Thanks Michele! I used the little cupcake Sizzlet to decorate the box.
So glad that tomorrow is Thursday because the weekend is almost here. G'night!

One of my first dies...

Several years ago, I bought my very first die cut machine. It was the old red Sizzix machine, the one that you pulled down on the handle as you pushed the die through the machine. Anyways, as I was cleaning up today, I found this cute puppy die that I probably used only once. So I thought I would make something with it and used one of the new XL dies that the stores now carry.
Here's the deets:
Sizzix original puppy die, chipboard (puppy), Sizzix XL scallop bag die, Cuttlebug swiss dots emboss folder, Hero Arts round gemstones, SU scallop punch, Sizzix rub-on, and ribbon.
Well, tomorrow is Friday and the weekend is here. Have a great one!

Yes!!!

Yesterday, I heard the ups man coming up the stairs with a delivery of samples for me, but I didn't expect to get a box of these new stamps. Of course I got a little excited since I was dying to see the new sizes of the clears. I can hardly wait to try them out.

I spent some time later this evening making some samples for the store. I slapped these together just so people can see the sizes of these new dies. The first box is called the shaker box. It's a good size to put little candies in. As you can see what the candies look like from the second picture. I don't know why this picture came out blurry but it must be my eyes. My LCD screen is quite big but I think I need a bigger one. LOL! The last picture is a sample of the horizontal card die and

matching envelope. It's smaller than the normal A2 size but it's mailable. I hope to finish with all the samples of these new dies by this weekend. Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there.

A busy Sizzix Saturday

This past Saturday was another busy day for me. I did a make-it take-it at Taj Clubhouse in Ward Warehouse. We used one of the new XL dies - the scallop box die. I decided to use the cute piggy die since it fit perfectly on the front of the box. The ladies had a great time and the 2 hours flew by real fast.
Then today, I had to make a sample using the new XL box #2 die. I wanted to keep it simple so I decided to go with the Sizzlets snail die.
I also used the Spellbinders long oval nestabilities dies that are a new size. Something that I've been waiting for. And believe it or not,
I don't have all the nesties.
We've been playing with the Wii everynight and having so much fun. I never thought that my hubs would even be interested in playing with me. Well, I better get cooking with dinner. Have a great night everyone!

Lion around

When I first cut this box out, I used parakeet green cardstock. I was going to make it into an alphabet block. I even cut the alphabets out of chipboard and a red apple to use for the letter A. But somehow, it just wasn't looking right to me. So I changed the box color and decided to make something else. I ended up using the lion die that has been sitting on my table for couple weeks now. I kind of like how it turned out.
Here's the deets:
Sizzix XL box die, Bigz lion die, DCWV cardstock for the lion, felt for the hair and tail, Bazzill for everything else, and Quikutz grass die.
Well, I'm heading to the shower, hope you're all having a great evening!

Horsing around

I recently bought this Spellbinder's nestablilities star die and really didn't know what to do with it. So I challenged myself to see what I could come up with. I didn't use all the sizes as it would of been overkill. The first one is cut out of acetate and the rest are cut from cardstock. I only embossed the red and blue star and used the Cuttlebug swiss dots to emboss the orange star. That cute horse die is a new one from Sizzix. Stamp is Hero Arts.
You're probably wondering why there are 3 photos but I wanted to show you the card in different angles.
I am busy cleaning out my house today even though it is a holiday weekend. I can't believe how much stuff I've accumulated in the past year. And while I was outside getting my laundry, I saw a mouse running under my washer (I think it's a mouse). Yuk! I hate those little critters. So now there is sticky traps going around my washer.
Well, back to cleaning and hope you're all having a wonderful holiday weekend!

Some crafty time

I actually spent some time in my craft room today making this card. The frog is a new Sizzix release which I ended up buying because I thought I'd try it out. This is my 2nd card using this die. I made the first one with a green frog and embossed with a texture plate but my husband said it looked kind of gross. And the card was actually going horizontal with a different stamped image but I ended up liking this version a lot better. LOL
It's been so hot lately that I can't stay downstairs very long. So glad that the vog we've been having is gone for now.
Have a great evening!

Be back soon...

I haven't completely disappeared, just been very busy the last couple of weeks. I've also been downstairs in my craft room preparing for some scheduled make-it take-its that are coming up. And, I have made some samples but haven't had the chance to take photos and post them. They are all at the store. I'll be at Ben Franklin Crafts-Market City this Saturday, May 17th from 10-11 am. We'll be making a card. And on June 7th, I'll be at TAJ Clubhouse at Ward Warehouse from 12-2 pm. Hope to see you this weekend!

Here's to the 25th of every month

Scrap your day - another scrappy online class that I decided to do every month for a year by Shimelle. I haven't scrapped in awhile and this helps to motivate me and get me back in the groove. I started the day off right taking the photos but, I messed up on dinner and bedtime. Here's a couple photos that I took. The clock is wrong because I did wake up at 6:30 but remembered to take the photo a half hour later.
Here's my breakfast. Notice I look at Spongebob while I'm drinking my tea and eating my crackers.

Here's a photo looking right out my screen window.
We live in an older neighborhood.
Yesterday was such a hot, voggy, humid day. Notice the air looks grey. That's all the vog from the volcano on the Big Island.

This is the view from my living room.
It kind of looks like that today again. Hopefully the winds will come back and blow the vog away.

I spent my morning between loads of laundry making this pink elephant card. It's a new Sizzix die that we'll be using for one of the make-it take-its. It was quite easy and fast to make.
Well, I have quite a bit of photos to print for yesterday's prompt. So, I'm going back downstairs to finish my scrapbook.

Party chick

I bought a bunch of the new Penny Black stamps the other day and this stamp is one of my favorites.
Here's the deets:
Sizzix Bigz XL scallop card (new size)
Spellbinders megabilities small scallop rectangle and small classic rectangle,
Stickles icicle, Palette canvas ink, and Hero Arts gemstones. The flowers on the background is from the clear Spring set. I just love this white ink from Palette. It is one of the best white inks I have used. So crisp and clear. And many thanks to Jen who gave it to me! It is by far one of my favorites now.
Well, I need to get to bed since I'll be very busy tomorrow. G'night!

Almost forgot...

I'm actually doing a 2nd post today. I just wanted to let you all know that on Saturday, April 19th, I'll be doing a make-it take-it at Ben Franklin Crafts in Kailua from 11 - 12 pm. Hope to see you there!

I know, it's been awhile

I didn't realize it's been awhile since I last posted. I'm also the one posting on my husband's blog too. Today I was in a rush to make him a birthday card and funny how when you are trying to get it done fast, it never happens. I must of spent over an hour trying to finish it. Anyways, here's the deets:
Stamps are $1 stamps from Hampton Art, paper is Autumn Leaves, circles are Spellbinders nestabilitites in small and large size, white cardstock is Hero Arts, and sheer black ribbon from Ben Franklin Crafts. Hope you're having a great Tuesday!!!

That schmuck!

Well, we had a rude awakening this morning at around 3:15 am. And yes, it was the police ringing our doorbell. Guess they tried calling on the
phone but no one heard it. Some rat out there stole my car (the one my daughter drives), and crashed it down the hill because - duh! you can't turn the steering wheel when there is a locked bar going across of it. So we spent almost 2 hours waiting, filing a claim, waiting for the tow truck, calling the insurance company and basically waiting. We could of drove the car home except, it was stuck on this big rock in someone's front lawn. Which we are thankful that the guy was still up watching t.v. and heard the crash but couldn't get the thief as he ran down the street. Hmmph! So today, I will spend my day dealing with the claims adjuster on getting everything fixed on the car again. The ignition is hanging down the left side of the steering wheel and when you start the car, the water is shooting out of the windshield and nothing works. We get to find out today what damage was done under the car.
Ok, glad I got this off my chest. Hope you're having a great Thursday!

Baby mode

Our niece had a baby boy right before Easter so I told my husband that I would make the card for them instead of buying a card. Duh! I still buy Hallmark cards. Haha!

Hopefully we'll be able to see the little guy soon.

And since I was making baby cards, I played around with this new die that I bought and made another one. I cut this out of chipboard. I wanted to see if it would cut since it was a much smaller die than the usual original size or bigz and it worked.
Well, tomorrow is hump day and I'm so glad the week is half over. Have a good one!

Saturday, March 22, 2008

Many thanks!

I just want to say thank you to all the ladies who showed up today for Ben Franklin Crafts "paper party"! It was so nice to see everyone again and especially seeing that you were all having a great time making the 2 projects that we had today. As requested, from now on, I will be posting when and where the next make-it take-it will be. At least I know that you guys are peeking in on my blog. Have a great Easter Sunday!!!

Easter inchies

I've been seeing cards made with stamped little pieces of cardstock so I thought I would give it a try. It was a challenge for me being that when you put it on a card, there is a lot of white space. So I ended up cutting the cardstock down to fit the little inchies. Here's the deets:
Dandelion Design stamps, Spellbinders square scalloped and square classic dies (the little ones), Memory Box cardstock, Worldwin cardstock, Making Memories paper, VersaColor ink, tulle, and Stickles glitter glue. You probably can't see the glitter too well but it's glittery IRL.
Have a wonderful Easter!!!

Just for fun

I stamped all morning on Saturday between loads of laundry and cleaning my craft space. By the afternoon, I was pooped. But here's one of the cards that I made using the Martha punch that I bought from Scrapbook Heaven. I've been looking all over for this punch and finally found it. Here's the deets:
Memory Box card in yellow
Orange cardstock from DCWV
Music Notes embossing folder from Cuttlebug
Hero background stamp on butterflies
Stickles glitter flue
Stampendous stamp
Martha butterfly punch
And the reason behind these colors for the butterflies, is they are from scraps that I used to make another card and scrapbook layout. I'll post them later.

I feel complete

It's finished! Thanks so much to a really special friend Jen, (tons of hugs to you) who offered to help me get a header up on this ole blog. I just love my new banner and I'm so glad that I didn't have to start up a new one. Please stop over to visit at her blog and say hi. She's got tons of eye candy going on and tutorials to the max. Thank you sista!

Playing around

Yesterday, I spent some time practicing a project for a t.v. show that I'm taping this week. I sort of finished it but got distracted after looking at a new embossing folder that I just bought. So, I stamped these cute animal stamps from Hero Arts and came out with this card.
I still have to finish the t.v. show project so I'm heading back to my craft room once again and hopefully I won't get distracted.

Make-it take-it

Hi peeps! I will at Scrapbook Heaven tomorrow, Saturday at 11-12 pm doing a cute little make-it take-it. Plus, I'll have the brand new black and pink Sizzix machine with me so you can all try it out. Hope to see you there!

New Do...

Since we came back from our trip, all I could think about was my upcoming hair color appointment. Well, when I walked in the door for my appointment, my hair stylist took one look at me and next thing I knew it, Edward Scissorhand was at work. Here's a self photo of me from the bathroom mirror. My hubs said I looked very young again. I guess it was a good compliment.
I wasn't able to post my little mini Valentine's book that I made for him since we were still on the mainland. Here's a photo of the cover.
I stamped a piece of white cardstock using Hero Arts Manuscript background stamp. Then I cut the heart out with the Spellbinders classic heart die and the red heart is the scalloped heart die. The stamped word is a $1 stamp that I got from Ben Franklin Crafts. I also used red stickles
on the tiny heart over the letter i.
I'll start posting the projects that I made at the show in another email. I'm running out the door in a few minutes for an appointment. Happy Thursday!!!

Where is it???

I don't know what happened to my blog header. Help! Anyone out there who can help me???
Well, we are back from CHA. I worked all 4 days of the show so I hardly made any projects at the booths. There are so many new products coming out and I can hardly wait to see all of it as it starts popping up in the stores. We stayed a couple extra days to do some sightseeing and had a real great time. It feels good to be back and soak up the sunshine here. It was sooo cold in Anaheim that we had the heater going everynight.
Here's a card that I made couple weeks before we left for CHA. I used the Minnie Cuttlebug embossing folder and Spellbinders scalloped circle and classic circle dies and a stamp that I just bought online.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and if you know about blog headers, please let me know.

Sneaky

My hubs can be such a sneak at times. I bought him an iPhone for Christmas and this is the first time since we've been married that I actually catch him playing with something all the time. Like yesterday, we were out shopping and he went to the men's dept while I went straight to the women's floor. So, he caught me playing dress up. Although, I did end up buying that cute sweater.
I haven't been posting much being that this is the time of the year when all the new products are shipping to the stores and I'm busy on the road. Life of a rep...
Here's a photo of a project that I did for The Joy of Crafting show. It will air the month of March for Easter. This was made using the new bunny die from Sizzix.
Don't forget to watch the shows on Sundays on OC16.
I won't be posting once again as we head out to Anaheim for the CHA show this weekend.
Hope you're all having a great Monday evening!

Go check it out

Today, the heart card that I made below is being featured on Angie's site. You have to go through her site. It's full of blogs sites to visit and she has lots of eye candy!

Yesterday was her birthday

My daughter's birthday was yesterday and she asked me if I could bake her some cupcakes to take to work. I thought she was kidding cause if you know me, you know that I never bake or cook. So I did end up making her pink cupcakes at 7:30 in the evening. The recipe on the box called for 3 eggs and being that I rarely make anything, I only had 1 egg. I wasn't about to go to the market to buy a box of eggs so I made the cupcakes with 1 egg. And, it did come out really good. I was impressed with myself. I even frosted it and put sprinkles on the top. Sorry but I forgot to take a photo of it.
Here's a photo of her gifts from me. I got her a Juicy wallet to match her Juicy bag that she bought during Christmas. I also wrapped some DS Lite games and a gift card in this chinese take-out box. Here's a close up of the tag that I made.
I used the Spellbinders nestabilities scalloped oval die and classic oval die. Stamp is Hero Arts cupcake w/ a cherry on top and of course bling. I also used stickles glitter on the sprinkles but it's kind of hard to see the glitter. I know the coloring is shakey but I was rushing to make this tag in couple minutes and drinking Starbucks coffee at the same time. Can you tell???
I'm heading out the door to my appointment. Happy humpday!

Another one...

I've been playing around with my stamps and ended up with another version of a Valentine's card similar to the one from yesterdays post. Sorry for the dark photo but the weather has been pretty bad lately and not enough sunlight to take the photo in my house.
But, if you look closely, the words are all glittered.
Recipe... Cuttlebug embossing folder, Spellbinders nestabilities scalloped heart die, SU stamp in background, $1 stamp - i love u, pink tulle, stickles, Hero Arts card and Bazzill cardstock.
I actually stamped the i love u and cut it out.
Happy Thursday cause tomorrow is TGIF!

Happy New Year!!!

So hard to believe that it is now 2008. I don't normally make resolutions for the New Year but this year I really have to make it a point to be more organized. I tend to let things go to the last minute and then I'm rushing to finish what needs to be done and getting myself all stressed out. This year is the year that I will be up to date on everything. Like balancing our checkbooks monthly and not letting it go for 5 months at a time. And filing my papers everyday instead of letting the pile go for months and looking for past orders in the pile. I even started a journal to log in all the daily calls and things that need to be taken care of with my accounts.

Here's a card that I made an hour ago while waiting for the laundry.
Recipe.... Cuttlebug embossing folder,
Spellbinder nestabilities scalloped heart and classic heart, clear $1 stamp, Hero Arts white card, Bazzill cardstock and red sheer ribbon.
Happy humpday!!!

Couple samples for the store

Last weekend I played around with some chipboard that I had sitting on my work table. I followed the idea sheet that I had (it's been awhile) to come up with this and a few changes.
I used the Retro frame die, Fleur de lis die, and Baby Says Yeah die. Although you can't see it, I texturized the frame using the checkerboard pattern and poured black glitter all over the frame. The Fleur de lis is also glittered with pink glitter and I put some bling in the corner.
I used the same Retro frame die for the second photo but this time I used the Christmas texture plate for the chipboard. I also poured red glitter on the fleur de lis to make it look real Christmasy.
If you want to see it up close, I left them at the
store.
Sorry for the lack of blogging. I get so lazy trying to post photos to the blog. Hope you're all having a great Thursday!!!
